1900- PREMIÈRE BANQUE À SHAWINIGAN Cette première banque, la BANQUE D'OTTAWA, était logée dans cette humble "cabane". Elle était située à l'angle de la 4ème rue et avenue des Cèdres, exactement où se trouve aujourd'hui les bureaux de M. Arthur Lacoursière, architecte. 1901 - UN ETABLISSEMENT COMMERCIAL - 4ème rue Cette maison est située sur la 4ème rue, voisin de l'Edifice Fafard, coin 4ème et Tamarac. Elle a été considérablement transformée depuis. Le premier magasin, à gauche, était celui de "H. Schachter, Bros.-marchand d'habits, merceries et marchandises sèches." A l'extérieur, des vêtements de toutes sortes sont suspendus, sur le trottoir de bois, on aperçoit encore des valises, des pièces de tissus, des coffres, etc. On voit aussi des bottines blanches à boutons, accrochées au mûr près de la porte d'entrée. Le second magasin était celui de M. J. Z. Demers, peintre et tapissier.
